John ‘J Authentic’ Bartholomew is a spoken word / rap artist, music producer, and visual artist. Having a degree in Bachelors of Science for Recording Arts, J loves to get his creative juices flowing while working with a variety of artists such as FLF, Dubem, Gold Wallace, BNDSRVNT, Civilized Creature, Patrick Spatz, G.I.Soul and Comewme to name a few. Based out of Minnesota, John's music lyrically is poetic expression of his life, while his sound brings a collage of sample based melodies and rhythms to the forefront. Being rooted in Christian faith, he seeks to use his gifts to glorify God and love others with each expression of creativity he brings to the table. In 2025, J started the record label “Good Fruit Bearing Recordings”, to help bring genuine God honoring music to the forefront with his friends. These days you can find J alongside his wife and daughter; working on new projects while actively looking for artists to collaborate with.
